The Halifax Junior Bengal Lancers is a private riding club. We offer lessons for anyone ages eight and up, and junior members
(eighteen and under) have twice a week group lessons and adult members ride once a week. We have twenty-five horses right
now, two of which are private horses and one police horse. The rest of the horses make up the greatest group of lesson
horses around! We have horses ranging from age three to age thirty, and they all vary in breed and size. As we speak,
the Junior membership is unbelievably full, but if you are interested in the club there is never any harm in trying.
The Bengal Lancers is one of
the greatest and most versatile barns going. We offer everything. We have students who travel all over the maritimes competeing
at horse shows, and, unlike almost all other lesson barns, we put on a musical ride. The musical ride is when we take sixteen
horses and riders and put on a rehearsed show where we perform synchronized movements to music. In previous years we have
performed with the RCMP, which is not only fun and exciting, but it is a great learning experience.
In short, the Bengal Lancers is a great
barn that is known for its high class school horses and well-established riders. In the past we have produced such well-known
horses as Prince of Thieves, who won the Junior Hunter division at the Royal Winter Fair in 2001, and All Along who is currently
showing successfully on the Ontario circuit. And keep your eye out for us in the future because the barn is full of upcoming
talented horses and riders.
